Christmas Retail....Kicking goals?

Christmas retail sales...

How are yours going? We have salons kicking ass, and salons struggling to sell their retail.

I was chatting to one of our tribe tonight about strategies to help salons retail more.

We came up with this-

The worst thing you can do, is tell your team to sell something, without training them how to sell something.

Selling is the worst word that you could ever use.

Education is a far better word, and in Selling , your  conversation needs to be about client needs...

For example, one of our salons, has sold over 25 volumising hot brushes in 3 weeks.

Another has sold 20 irons in the same time, but in October.

Some have sold out of Christmas packs, some have excess on their shelves....

And why?

Because of the difference in training.

You can tell them to sell sell sell all you like....

But do they know how?

At this time of year, the main questions should be- have you done all of your Christmas shopping?

What have you bought?

Oh, is Mary hard to buy for, how bout get her a shampoo pack...

Display your retail like Christmas too, don’t just stick it on the shelves like normal stock,  display it near the till, on work benches...

And show your  how amazing your stock is....

Talk only retail and hair....

I’ve sold volume brushes to our clients clients, just by using one in the salon and demonstrating how good they are...

Are you doing this?

Have you tried one yet??

So, we had a great idea,

Get your team excited...

Run a little race for them...

Fill a glass jar full of envelopes, from $10-$100...and one gold one....

Ratio- 3 envelopes per stylist.

Make the prizes, anything from a $10 gift voucher, to a day off, or a pack, or an electrical, but make the gold envelope something amazing, like a night at a nice hotel....

Create targets, and make sure the gold one is high, but worth reaching for...

On your last day, take everyone’s results from your retail target for the next two weeks, and award the highest score with your gold envelope, and let them all choose envelopes based on how many products sold...

If they sold 10 Xmas retail items-

1 envelope

If they sold 20 Xmas retail items

2 envelopes

If they sold 30 Xmas retail items

3 envelopes

If they sold 40 retail items Golden ticket and 3 envelopes...

Get your team excited, and make the most of the next two weeks, as our big retailers haven’t been able to get their normal volume of stock, so this is our time to shine, and make a Christmas bonus too!
